How many backward links should I be making an attempt to obtain? In my humble opinion you want to use caution not to build up the amount of these backward links too fast.

It should be a continual project across the life of the site. If as an example you are able to get ten every week for five years, this would be amazing. This can quite simply raise a red flag with the search engines. There is no simple solution, tough work pays off and we want to have patience. I look to the long run and believe in time the work I put in today will be of great benefit to me tomorrow.
